The Changing Face of Video Delivery
At Outpost, A big part of our work is staying ahead of technology. When it comes to digital technology, the landscape is changing quickly. In that context, let me share some trends that we see, and how we are responding.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the writing on the wall (or is it the video on the web). The face of content delivery has changed. As reported by Nielsen Online, in August 2008, broadband penetration among active Internet users in US homes grew to 91.54%. [Read More]
Succeeding With “Demo-To-Go”
I’ve been reading a little book by Seth Godin called, The Dip, and highly recommend it. Godin has good advice for surviving the times we are now experiencing. Godin exclaims it is those who, when hitting bottom, continue pushing to get up the other side that will succeed.
It’s that little bit of extra effort that makes the mountain of difference. Also, against traditional thought and conventional wisdom, Godin explains that quitting can be a very important tactic in reaching success. The question is “are you in a cul de sac (dead end) or in a dip? Big difference … requiring different actions. [Read More]

2008 Government Video Tech Expo
When it comes to sharing the latest insider news and trends in the world of video production, the Government Video Technology Expo held this week in Washington, D.C., is among the best forums. Outpost Worldwide’s Washington representative David Henderson joined Elaine Hamilton (right), President of Kansas City based Vision Teleproduction, for sessions where the top subject was online delivery of video. Ms. Hamilton is a frequent collaborator with Outpost Worldwide on video production projects.
If there were one message at the conference, it is that everything is changing, and changing quickly, driven by today’s digital revolution. The field of digital video and audio delivery is changing so quickly that DVDs will soon become obsolete, replaced by video programs and content delivered instantly and on-demand online. Music CDs will be replaced by even more services, such as iTunes, providing music online. [Read More]

999 Eyes in the Spotlight
999 Eyes is a group that should have their own television show or be the subject of a “fly on the wall” television documentary … and that’s precisely why the troupe, and their production partner, Big Cat Productions, have teamed up with Outpost Worldwide.
The talented entertainers who make up 999 Eyes put on a show that is like nothing you have ever seen. 999 Eyes is the last freak show in the United States. The group features authentic living human oddities, such as the “tripod lady”, the dancing dwarf, the lobster girl, the Black Scorpion and the Elephant Man. The group also features Lowrent, the clown and “That Damned Band”, a dark carnival jug band. [Read More]
